Anne Fortier, geboren 1971 in Holsterbro in Dänemark, schickte bereits mit 13 Jahren ihr erstes Manuskript an einen Verlag. Ihr großer Durchbruch gelang ihr allerdings erst im Jahr 2010. Vor ihrer Tätigkeit als Schriftstellerin war Fortier an einigen Filmproduktionen beteiligt u.a. an der Emmy-prämierten Dokumentation "Fire and ice" über den Finnisch-Russischen Winterkrieg. Fortier studierte u.a. in Oxford und promovierte in Aarhus im Fach Ideengeschichte. Sie lehrte an mehreren Universitäten Philosophie und Europäische Geschichte. Heute lebt Anne Fortier mit ihrer Familie in Kanada.
