Hierfür wurde sie von Frankreich mit dem Orden eines "Chevalier des Arts et Lettres" ausgezeichnet. An der University of Albany ist Lydia Davis Professorin für Kreatives Schreiben. 2013 erhielt sie den Man Booker International Prize.
