Beschreibung:

Professor Jonathan Rosenbaum (Gratz College) invited me to San Diego on 21 November 2019, at an ASOR session (Session 3B Archaeology and Biblical Studies I) to give a talk entitled: Mesopotamian chronology over the period 2340-539 BCE through astronomically dated synchronisms and comparison with carbon-14 dating (https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/hal-03090272v3). Only a short report of this lecture has been published (asor.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2019-ASOR-Program-and-Abstract-Book.pdf). In addition, a poster of this paper was exhibited at the Collège de France, Paris, during the 65th International Meeting of Assyriology on 8-12 July 2019 at the request of Professor Dominique Charpin (https://rai2019.digitorient.com/en/posters/). Professor Nele Ziegler agreed to publish the abstract of my paper in NABU 2021-3 (https://academia.edu/58872500/). This research is available on https://univ-lyon2.academia.edu/GerardGERTOUX

God's name is fundamental to all monotheistic religions. Paradoxically, religions prefer to translate God's name as Yahweh "He Is," Adonay "my Lord," Allah "The God," rather than a transcription of the name, which is more usual. However, the key to unlock this mystery was provided by the famous Maïmonides, 800 years ago, when he wrote that the Name "is read as it is written." Name of God Y.eH.oW.aH Which is Pronounced as it is Written I_Eh_oU_Ah is Gérard Gertoux's examination of the paradox of the correct pronunciation.
