Beschreibung:

Ansel Adams (1902-1984) was one of the great artists of the twentieth century. In a remarkable career spanning seven decades, he made over 40,000 photographs, many of them icons in the history of the medium. Perhaps the most honored photographer of all time, he received myriad national and international accolades and honorary degrees, three Guggenheim fellowships, and the United States’ highest civilian award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. His photographs have been exhibited in virtually every major museum in the world. In 1976, Adams established an exclusive long-term publishing arrangement with Little, Brown and Company, a partnership that has produced thirty books, both of his own fine art photography, and on the subject of photographic technique.
Each of Adams 40 photographs presented here is accompanied by an engaging narrative that explores the technical and aesthetic problems presented by the subject and includes reminiscences of the places and people involved.
