Dag Solstad, geboren 1941 in Sandefjord, gehört zur ersten Garde der norgwegischen Schriftsteller. Seit 1965 Publikationen zahlreicher Romane, Artikel, Theaterstücke, Essays. Zusammen mit Jon Michelet Herausgabe von fünf Büchern über Fußballweltmeisterschaften. Ausgezeichnet 3 x mit dem norwegischen Kritikerpreis, 1987 mit dem Literaturpreis des Nordischen Rates sowie 2004 den Aschehoug-Literaturpreis.
