Beschreibung:

George Gordon Byron (aka Lord Byron), later Noel, 6th Baron Byron of Rochdale FRS was a British poet and a leading figure in Romanticism. He is regarded as one of the greatest British poets and remains widely read and influential, both in the English speaking world and beyond. Byron was profoundly impressed by Mariner's report of the scenery and folklore of the Friendly Islands, he was "e;never tired of talking of it to his friends,"e; and, in order to turn this poetic material to account, finally bethought him that Bligh's Narrative of the mutiny of the Bounty would serve as a framework or structure "e;for an embroidery of rare device"e; - the figures and foliage of a tropical pattern. This early work by Lord Byron was originally published in 1823 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography.
