He singlehandedly took the underbelly of America... dirt-poor greaser, glorifying it. Elvis was all four Jungian archetypes rolled into one - the child- the wise man, the fool or trickster and lastly, the sexual being, desirable, yet unobtainable. In his wake spawning countless scores of Bobbies from Darren to Rydell. Into this vacuum stepped the Beatles, this time they split the archetype into four unbeatable single units, along with a darker, more sinister Rolling Stones, setting the blueprint for what was yet to come. The law could not touch these New Gods; Keith Richards became the patron saint of Junkies, while the Velvet Underground. the defining forefathers of art rock, made Heroin an accessory, way before Black Sabbath's Ozzie Osborne made Bipolar - Bipopular. Pink Floyd's L.S.D. landscapes became an homage to cash registers, and stadium rock was born.
