Beschreibung:
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).The purpose of this collection is to disseminate the latest developments in the field of the environmental degradation of structural materials, hydrogen degradation, stress corrosion cracking, hydrogen and corrosion fatigue. The result is an excellent guide to the experimental study and modeling of environmentally-assisted cracking, advanced materials technologies and case studies of materials failure in various industrial applications.Conferences held in May 2011, in Gdansk, Poland, provided a forum for materials scientists and engineers working in environmental degradation and materials technologies. This work presents 37 papers from the conferences, detailing recent research and applications in environmental degradation of structural materials, hydrogen degradation, stress corrosion cracking, and hydrogen and corrosion fatigue, in addition to experiments and modeling of environmental-assisted cracking, advanced materials technologies, and case studies of material failure in various industrial applications. Some specific topics include perovskites in solid oxide fuel cells, quality investigation of Au nanoarrays for biosensing applications, and underwater welding of duplex stainless steel. Other topics include the effects of welding conditions on diffusible hydrogen content in deposited metal, evaluation of hydrogen degradation by in situ ultrasonic testing, and modeling of heat flux density distribution for laser beam welding. The book contains many b&w images.
