The present work aims to study the changes in energetic nucleotides (ATP, ADP and AMP), phosphate potential, adenylate energy charge (AEC), inorganic phosphate (Pi), urea cycle enzymes ornithine aminotransferase (OAT), argininosuucinate synthetase (ASS), argininosuccinate lyase. (ASL) and arginase, liver function enzymes alanine aminotransferase (ALT), asp artate aminotransferase (AST), lactate dehydrogenase enzyme activity (LDH) and its isoenzymes, alkaline phgosphatase (ALP), total protein, liver weight, body weight, liver weight to body weight ratio, oogram count and worm burden in mice infected with S. mansoni at different durations post infection. Furthermore, the effect of Curcuma Tonga as natural plant extract was tested on these previous parameters to evaluate its role in improving the efficiency of the infected liver.
