Das Schlüsselwerk des früh verstorbenen Malers Egon Schiele (1890-1918) entstand während nur knapp eines Jahrzehnts. Seine berühmten Aktdarstellungen ergründen ungeschönt das innerste Wesen des Menschen. Von nicht minder intensiver Körperlichkeit und herausfordernder Direktheit sind auch die Arbeiten von Jenny Saville ( 1970 in Cambridge). Der Katalog stellt erstmals beide künstlerischen Positionen einander gegenüber.
