Beschreibung:

Seyed Javad Miri is a professor of sociology at institute of humanities and cultural studies in Iran. He works mainly on social theory, religious thought and philosophy. Among his recent works we can mention Sociological Imagination in Sadrian Paradigm and also Sociological Relevance of Primordial School of Social Theory.
The book is an attempt to explore the ideas of Ku Hung-Ming from China from a primordial point of departure. He was a great intellectual but less known in global sociology circle. Here we have attempted to rediscover his legacy in a global context for sociologists and all students of humanities. His critiques against rationality of eurocentric nature and his fourfold categorizations of rationality is one of the most amazing stories of world sociology which needs to be explored. Although Ku occupies a very significant position in the history of ideas in China but his intellectual importance has not been yet discovered outside China. Miri's work is a unique contribution to the field of comparative sociology and philosophy.
