With the new concept of motion pictures a new form of tourism was born, film tourism. Faces and landscapes were slowly being recognized on the screen and so actors became movie stars and far away places came into the living rooms and theatres. With the huge impact film had on peoples' lives, tourism was shortly to follow. Travelling to countries were ones' favourite movie has been shot became just another way of spending free time. As well as visiting the houses of famous movie stars all the way up to visiting burial places of famous actors. This book does not only provides an in depth analysis on film tourism, how it came to be and how it is being perceived but also gives an in depth analysis of the impacts film has had on destinations in terms of tourism and development and the mindset of people. Not only does it show what film tourism has left behind till now but also provides a glimpse of what film tourism might do for us in the future. The analysis should help shed some light on the general concept of film tourism and should be especially useful to those interested in this young form of tourism and those interested in a broader sense of the film concept.
