He received Gold Medal & Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2009 from S B S PG Institute of B S and Reasearch,Dehradun,HNB Garhwal University,India.
The greatest disadvantage in the presently available synthetic drugs Non Steroidal anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) lies in their toxicity and reappearance of symptoms after discontinuation. Therefore the Future attemps for searching and developing anti-inflammatory drugs with high efficacy and low toxicity or without any unwanted effect from the plant sources are likely to yield fruitful result.Earlier we have reported that extracts of Gymnema sylvestre, Tinospora cordifolia and Piper longum have exhibited very good anti-inflammatory potential.Polyherbal formulations are found to be very effective in chronic illness and in contrast to the allopathic formulation thus To overcome adverse drug reaction associated with oral administration of NSAIDS, in the present study we have made an attempt to formulate topical gel containing extract of Gymnema sylvestre, Tinospora cordifolia and Piper longum (anti-inflammatory enhancer) and evaluate its anti inflammatory potential in topical application in Rats and compare it with the marketed Topical gel containing diclofenac sodium a potent anti- inflammatory agent.
