Beatrice Altman-Schevitz, born in 1955 in Buffalo, New York, USA, studied politics and sociology at the University of Buffalo and graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt am Main in 1995 with a degree in social work education. In 1976, she moved to Germany with her current husband Jeffrey Schevitz. From 1977, they both worked as undercover agents for the Intelligence Directorate (HV A) of the GDR Ministry for State Security (MfS). In spring 1994, they were identified as part of the investigation into the "Rosenholz" files. The couple now live in Bavaria. Beatrice Altman-Schevitz has published her first book, entitled "The Shadow in the Shadow".
