Khorshed Alam wurde am 15. Mai 1991 in Choto Merung-4420, Dighinala, Khagracchari Hill District, Bangladesch geboren. Er schloss sein Studium an der Universität Chittagong im Fachbereich Geografie und Umweltstudien im Jahr 2014 ab. Im Jahr 2015 schloss er sein Postgraduiertenstudium an derselben Institution und im selben Fachbereich ab.
Bangladesh is predominantly an agricultural country with over 70% of its population dependent on farming as a livelihood and about 15.33% of the national GDP is derived from this sector (Economic Survey-2016). In Bangladesh, farmers produce foods and other crops both as cash and for subsistence needs. The southern, southwestern and the coastal areas of Bangladesh remain submerged for long periods every year, especially during the monsoon season. People in these areas have been coping with submerged/flooded conditions for generations. The people of these areas depend on agriculture. They have adopted a method of cultivation, locally referred to as "Vasoman Chash," meaning floating agriculture, since the time of their forefather's. Other areas of the country are also remaining water logged several time of the year. In the hilly region kaptai Lake is located in rangamati Hill district. There are vast area if the practice of floating vegetable Cultivation here food and nutrition supply would be more available for the practitioners.
