The urgency evident in the developing countries, particularly in Africa is created out of their late start and the distance they have to travel to attain a reasonable standard of living for their people. This research was embarked upon with a view to making available facts on the state of rural development in Nigeria particularly in the North East Arid Zone Ecosystem.
